The Rivergate
Chronicle.
Stories and self-reported community quests around Kingdoms. These characters and quests do not alter the original game.
Chapter I - The river and the keep
Beyond the bookshop's last shelf, a narrow stair leads to Rivergate: a realm of weathered keeps, lamp-lit markets, and a river that carries more stories than ships. Archivist Elin Quill offers you a blank page. A ruler, she says, is remembered by what survives the winter. Your first community quest: learn your vault, then record your first monster victory.
Chapter II - A merchant's measure
At the bridge, Mara Reed weighs a dented helmet against a purse of coins. A weapon buys a chance, she tells you. Preparation buys another tomorrow. Her advice becomes your next community quest: visit training, inspect equipment, and decide which weakness to address first.
Chapter III - Nine doors before dawn
Bran Ash, keeper of Rivergate's watch, marks nine doors on a slate. Behind the tenth lies everything you mean to keep. His challenge is simple: learn how castle defenders work and place your first defender when you can afford one. The Chronicle records your choices; Kingdoms remains the authority on battles, purchases, and rewards.
Your first five milestones
- Visit your vault and learn how deposits work
- Win your first low-level monster fight
- Visit the Development Centre and review training
- Inspect equipment at the Outfitters
- Place a defender in your castle when you can afford one
Track these in Kingdoms entrance → J: Your quest journal. Marking a milestone is self-reported and grants no in-game reward.
